Why are we the best?

 I, (Stephin) grew up in southern Iowa, and from a young age, I was introduced to the world of construction. When I was 11, I started going to work with my dad, helping him build post-frame buildings and install metal roofing. Those early years gave me hands-on experience and shaped my understanding of the trade. I kept working alongside him until I turned 15, learning the importance of hard work and craftsmanship. At that point, I made the choice to leave school and began working with the Amish, where I kept building post frame structures and perfecting my roofing skills.

 By the time I was 17, I knew I wanted to go out on my own and do things my way. So, at 18, I officially started my own business. The time I spent working with my dad and the Amish gave me a solid foundation in building, but it also made me realize that construction wasn't just a way to make a living—it was something I loved doing. Around the age of 16, I started feeling that construction was more than just a job for me. I enjoyed the challenge of each project and took pride in seeing the finished result, knowing it was built right. That feeling has stuck with me ever since.

 When I'm not working, I like spending time with my family and enjoying hobbies like golfing and playing baseball or softball. Even when I take time off to do the things I enjoy, my mind always comes back to construction. Building things from the ground up and working with my hands is what I truly care about, and I feel lucky to be able to do it every day.
